Bad breath is embarrassing. However, luckily we have a secret ingredient in our kitchen to get rid of halitosis. This secret ingredient is apple cider vinegar.
However, before I tell you how to use apple cider vinegar to treat bad breath let us first learn the causes of bad breath.
There are many causes of bad breath, but the most common cause is poor oral hygiene. The food we eat gets stuck in between our teeth. If we do not wash our mouth properly, these food particles are acted upon by the oral bacteria and the end products is sulfur. The production of sulfur causes foul smell from mouth. Dry mouth also causes bad breath as in the absence of sufficient amount of saliva bacteria in our mouth are not rinsed out properly. Other causes of halitosis are dental caries and other physical illness affecting throat and nasal passage.
To get rid of halitosis maintain proper oral hygiene. Brush 2 times in a day, floss every day and rinse your mouth with mouthwash.
As most of the mouthwashes sold on the market contain mint or alcohol that may cause your mouth to dry, better use homemade apple cider vinegar mouthwash.
How apple cider vinegar combat bad breath

How to make apple cider vinegar mouthwash
To make apple cider vinegar mouthwash, mix a half teaspoon of ACV in a glass of warm water. Stir the ingredients and swish the mixture around your mouth for 1-2 minutes and then spit it out
*Make sure to rinse your mouth with plain water properly after using ACV mouthwash or it may deteriorate your enamel, in the long run, being acidic in nature.
